etc28	3.2005	Card for someone at work who is not having his contract renewed due to budget cutbacks. He is a really great guy and we will all miss him. I got the idea for putting four squares on the front and leaving one blank from Amy on Gingerwood. Ash and maple leaf punches by EK Success, oak by All Night Media, square by Marvy. Font is Autumn Leaves Sandra downloaded from Two Peas in a Bucket.
etc27	3.2005	Card for someone at work who is transferring to a new job in New York so that he can be with his fiancee who is going to law school there. The template for making the fortune cookie is at Stampington.com, but basically all you have to do is cut out a circle, fold it almost in half (leave a little edge sticking out), then open it back up and run a bit of glue down the fold, refold, then pinch inwards to make the fortune cookie shape. I inked the edges with tea dye distress ink and stippled some on top when done folding. The fortunes are saved from my favorite Chinese restaurant -- I keep a bunch of good ones I think I might use someday. I glued the cookies onto the card front.
etc26	1.2005	Sent these into the Stamper's Sampler for their dress form theme. I got on a roll trying to see how many variations on the formula I could come up with! The dress form stamp is by Rubbermoon. Ruler stamps are by Ma Vinci's Reliquary. The small saying on the left side of the first card is by Savvy Stamps, it says "it's the little things that matter most". The scroll stamp is by Penny Black. All other stamps by Hero Arts. Patterned paper by Making Memories.
etc25	1.2005	Sent these into the Stamper's Sampler for their dress form theme. The dress from in all these samples is by Inkadinkado. In the first card, I stamped it on black shrink plastic with white Brilliance Ink, and the saying stamp is by Savvy Stamps. Second card, the saying is by River City Rubber Works, London stamp by Stamper's Anonymous, and the suitcse is by Inkadinkado, all others by Hero Arts. Fourth card all stamps but the dress form are by Hero Arts. Last card the waltz is by Inkadinkado, dots by Hero Arts, Impress, and Magenta.
etc24	11.2004	I made this card and scrapbook page to enter in the Hero Arts Winter Wishes Stamping Contest (for the Card and Scrapbook Duo category). All stamps by Hero Arts except for the Making Memories Date Set. I took the photos during the Lance Armstrong Foundation's Ride for the Roses -- for more info on the ride and the Lance Armstrong Foundation see my write-up here! More details on the card and scrapbook page: I swiped white acrylic paint on the card front and stamped "livestrong" over the painted area using Acient Page Coal Black ink. I used a foam brush to apply the paint. I also swiped white paint on a metal tag from Making Memories and stamped on it. I've been having lots of fun with acrylic paint! I've had that Hero Arts bicycle postage stamp for ages but have never found a way to enter it in a Hero Arts contest until now. :-) I highlighted certain words in the journaling with Twinkling H2O's -- at certain angles they twinkle so much that they block out the writing -- sorry about that. It looks better in person. I was trying to play around with circles and rectangles in the layout since the page and photos are rectangles and the wheels on the bikes are circles.

etc17	1.2004	Card to send to Claudia Rose to thank her for adding some goodies to my order! The chicken stamp is by her, I drew the rest. Font is called Chicken Shack (ha ha, it matches) downloaded from Two Peas in a Bucket. The inside reads: There were Claudia Rose stamps on the other side!
etc14	1.2004	Today I was lucky enough to be able to take a class with Helene Metivier of Magenta!!! It was a really neat class. We learned to do a technique where you stamp on black cardstock with white pigment ink -- Colorbox seemed to work the best! -- and then colored the image with pencils -- we used Prismacolor. Helene said that you should let the ink dry first to prevent smudging, but you don't have to -- just be careful not to rub your hand on the image while coloring! I didn't let mine dry because I was too impatient to get started! Here's some before and after images so you can see what I did! The colored images are mounted on a Japanese paper that Magenta sells called Maruyama. That was a great class, if ever you get a chance to take a class with Helene do it!!!!

etc7	5.2003	I made this for Jason to celebrate getting our house! The house and alphabet stamps are by Hero Arts. I drew the flowers -- they're supposed to be Texas wildflowers. I got the idea from a Magenta stamp.

etc3	4.2002	I got to go to a stamp convention in Ohio with my Mom, and Jason stayed in Texas. The next day we went to some local stamp/scrabooking stores and stopped in at A & W Rootbeer! I think it's one of the last remaining restaurants in the country. We used to go there together all the time in college. I was teasing him how I got to go and he didn't, so I saved a placemat and made him this card!
		Inside of the card. I used a gel pen to make the "rootbeer foam".

		Little box that I made to put the card in. It's the size of the card and about 1/2 inch thick. I used the tall "card-tainer" box from Paper's By Catherine. This way the diploma didn't get smushed! The box closed with velcro.
